One more cow has been offered to Lord Ayyappa on Tuesday by a devotee making the number of cows at gosala (cattle shelter) from 35 to 36. Devaswom board has already initiated steps to to re-settle the gosala. The new gosala will be re- settled to Nilakkal.
Shanmugham and Kulanthai from Tamilnadu offered a cow and a calf to Lord Ayyappa.The care taker of the gosala, Velluchammy descended the holy hills to Pampa to bring the cow and a calf to Sannidhanam. The cow and calf were offered to lord Ayyappa early before the closing of Nada.
The animals offered to Ayyappa has all been inhabited in a single space and this created much problems at the gosala which have prompted the Devaswom Board to re-settle the cattle shelter to Nilakkal informed M Satheeshkumar, Executive Officer, Sannidhanam,
A devotee has come forward to build the cattle shelter at Nilakkal and the board will find sufficient land for that. At the same time, the cows which supplies milk for various needs at Sannidhanam would be kept in the Sannidhanam itself.
