Sabarimala temple opened for devotees for Madalakala ulsavam. Only 1000 devotees are allowed due to the restrictions on COVID-19.

However nearly 2000 devotees can visit the shrine during Saturday and Sunday, for those who have already booked online. They have to bring the covid-19 negative certificate tested 24 hours before the visit.

Melshanti (main priest) A.K. Sudheer Namboothiri opened the doors of the Sanctum Sanctorum and lit the lamps at 5 pm in the presence of Chief Priest Tantri Kandararu Rajeevaru.
