The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has announced a new daily service from Ankamaly to Pamba. The bus service will be inaugurated tomorrow by the Hon. Transport Minister, Shri Jose Thettayil at 8pm. The inauguration will take place at the Kalady Sringerimadham. The bus will depart from Ankamaly at 8.30 pm daily, and will reach Pamba via Kalady, Moovattupuzha, Kottayam, Thiruvalla and Pathanamthitta. (News from Mathrubhumi)
KSRTC had earlier annouced that buses will be operated from any depot if atleast 40 pilgrims request for a bus. All unit officers have been instructed to release buses at the earlier depending on the demand. KSRTC has also announced that Help desks will be operated at Ernakulam Junction and Chengannur railway stations. The Help desks will have a Station Master, and language experts to communicate in various languages. Five buses will be parked at Ernakulam Junction station at all times, and will depart as an when enough passengers arrive. Facility would be made to run buses from Ernakulam North station according to demand.
The renovated KSRTC bus station at Pamba was inaugurated by the Transport Minister, Shri Jose Thettayil in presence of the Devaswom Minister, Shri Kadannappally Ramachandran on 15th of this month. The bus station boasts of adequate facilities for operating crew and waiting areas for passengers. KSRTC will operate 257 buses to Pamba regularly, of which 200 are new buses.
