To handle the large number of people visiting the Sabarimala Ayyappa temple, the Indian Railways is introducing a special train between Chennai and Kottayam for four days. These special Vande Bharat Sabari Trains will travel from Chennai Central to Kottayam, passing through Salem, Erode, and Podanur, specifically to accommodate the additional travelers during the Sabarimala pilgrimage season.

Here are the details for the Central Vande Bharat Sabari Bi-Weekly Specials:

Train No. 06151 (Dr MGR Chennai Central to Kottayam): This train will depart from Dr MGR Chennai Central at 04:30 hrs on 15th, 17th, 22nd, and 24th December 2023 (Fridays & Sundays) and will arrive at Kottayam at 16:15 hrs on the same day. This service will be available four times.

Train No. 06152 (Kottayam to Dr MGR Chennai Central): This train will leave Kottayam at 04:40 hrs on 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th December 2023 (Saturdays & Mondays) and will reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 17:15 hrs on the same day. This service will also be available four times.

The Vande Bharat Sabari Special train will make stops at Chennai Central, Katpadi, Salem, Erode, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam Town, and Kottayam.
